Early Autism Support
At-Home

Greater Boston, Metro-West, North Shore and South Shore

We provide Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI) for young children newly diagnosed with autism.

It is the most effective, research-supported treatment to help children reach a natural developmental path as early as possible.

WELCOME

If your child was recently diagnosed with autism, you’re in the right place. Finding effective, trustworthy support is the first step toward real progress.

At Behavioral Network, we teach young children to communicate, express and assert themselves, and build meaningful relationships at home and in their community.

Treatment sessions happen in familiar settings where children feel safe and comfortable, so they’re best able to learn. We don’t provide treatment to young children in a clinic setting because lasting progress occurs in natural environments.

Every session is developmentally focused, playful and engaging. We use highly effective, evidence-based methods, while keeping therapy fun and meaningful for the child.

When our team arrives, parents often notice their child’s enthusiasm and the steady, observable progress that comes from skilled, compassionate intervention.

When our team arrives, parents see their child’s enthusiasm and are reassured by the steady progress that comes from skilled, compassionate intervention.

MEET SUSAN SHEA, ED.S, BCAB™, LABA

I’m Susan Shea, founder and Clinical Director of Behavioral Network, Inc in Massachusetts.

For over 25 years, I’ve served young children with autism and their families. I’ve seen firsthand how the right support at the right time can transform a child’s development.

My mission is simple: to help each child reach their full potential as early as possible, while offering parents clarity and reassurance through a challenging time.

Every child deserves to be able to communicate, connect, and enjoy a playful, confident childhood. Every parent deserves informed, sincere support.

Our Work

We specialize in one core service: Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention (EIBI).

EIBI is a structured, evidence-based form of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) designed specifically for very young children diagnosed with autism. The approach is intensive, comprehensive, long-term and fully personalized. Every program is guided by ongoing assessment, data, and progress tracking.

Children typically receive 30-40 hours of one-on-one instruction per week for two to four years.

Our goal is not just improvement – it’s helping each child reach pivotal developmental milestones on time and preparing them to enter grade school ready to learn alongside their peers.

EIBI targets skills across 25 developmental areas, including communication and language, play, social interaction, motor skills, cognition, and daily living. Sessions take place at home and/or daycare, with parents involved in ways that fit comfortably into their family’s life.

When children are ready, we help families transition to school, ensuring continuity and confidence every step of the way.

Why Early Treatment Matters

Decades of research are clear: the earlier effective treatment begins, the better the outcomes.

Intervention by age two or three is ideal and before age four is critical because, during this critical window, a child’s brain is at its peak capacity for learning.

With individualized EIBI, many children achieve developmental milestones once thought unreachable. Roughly 45% reach and maintain typical development and no longer meet criteria for an autism diagnosis. In comparison, for children who receive equally intensive eclectic treatment, only 1-5% make such substantial progress.

EIBI not only supports current development, it can profoundly reduce the long-term impact of autism on a child’s future development.

We welcome referrals from pediatricians, neuropsychologists and other evaluators of young children with developmental needs.

You may share your contact details and a brief description of the child’s needs, and we will follow up directly with you or the family.

Please note: to authorize treatment, health insurance providers require a written diagnosis, from a licensed psychologist or medical doctor, along with a recommendation for intensive, comprehensive ABA, specifying treatment intensity.
